AWAY IN A MANGER

AWAY IN A MANGER ,NO CRIB FOR A BED
SO SWEET BABY JESUS HAD A STRAW BED INSTEAD.

THEY HAD TRAVELED SO FAR TO REACH BETHLEHEM
WHEN THEY ARRIVED THERE WAS NO ROOM IN THE INN
.

THE INN KEEPER SAID YOU COULD SLEEP IN THE STABLE
THERE IS STRAW TO SLEEP ON AND A TROUGH FOR A CRADLE.

SO MARY AND JOSEPH SETTLED IN FOR THE NIGHT
THE STARS IN THE SKY SHONE BRIGHTLY WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SITE.

LATER THAT NIGHT WHILE THE ANIMALS LOOKED ON
AS MARY GAVE BIRTH TO GODS ONLY SON.

AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN, CAME TO THE SHEPARD'S THAT NIGHT
AND TOLD THEM ABOUT ,THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SITE

HE SAID FOLLOW THE STAR THAT SHINES BRIGHTEST ABOVE
IT WILL LEAD YOU TO JESUS, GODS GIFT OF TRUE LOVE.

HE IS LYING IN A MANGER IN THE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM
GO NOW MY SHEPARD'S AND GIVE PRAISE TO HIM.

SO MANY CAME, FROM FAR AND FROM NEAR
AS THE ANGELS SANG SWEETLY, THE CHRIST CHILD IS HERE

SO GOES THE STORY OF THE CHRIST CHILD OF OLD
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SITE IT MUST HAVE BEEN TO BEHOLD.
