HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MOTHER'S EVERYWHERE
THERE IS NO OTHER JOB THAT CAN COMPARE
TO RAISE A CHILD IS A LOT OF WORK TO DO
MOTHER'S EVERYWHERE I PRAISE YOU.

SOMETIMES THERE'S LAUGHTER, SOMETIMES PAIN.
BUT FOR ALL THE LOSS, THERE'S MUCH MORE GAIN.
STILL SOME FOLKS SAY, OH YOU'RE JUST A MOTHER,
LIKE YOU'RE JOB IS LESS IMPORTANT, THEN ANY OTHER.

WELL THEY HAVE NEVER WALKED IN YOU SHOES
OR EVER HAD TO PAY ANY MOTHERHOOD DUES.
LIKE STAYING UP WITH A SICK CHILD ALL NIGHT LONG
PRAYING PLEASE GOD DON'T LET ANY THING BE WRONG.

OR ROCKING THE LITTLE ONE WHO WOULDN'T GO TO SLEEP
THEN TRYING TO DO HOUSE WORK SO TIRED AND WEAK.
THE NEXT TIME, OH JUST A MOTHER, YOU HEAR SOMEONE SAY
SAY YES AND I'M PROUD THAT GOD PLANNED IT THAT WAY
