About that time misty walked up behind her, and said
there you are. it startled Margo so bad she jumped .oh I am so
sorry said misty ,I have been calling you and looking for you
.this place is so huge you could get lost for weeks in here.
Margo laughed and said, yeah and probably starve to death,
trying to find the kitchen. Then they both laughed. so what did
you want with me said Margo? You know I have already forgotten
said misty and she laughed.
Margo and misty sat down in
the ballroom on one of the loveseats, and Margo said, how about
I tell you about magnolia lane? It’s been a quite a while
since I have been in most of the rooms, but I think I can still
remember them. How many rooms are there, said misty? Well said
Margo, on the first floor there is the study, the family room,
the library, the ball room, a dining room and formal dining
room,
the kitchen ,a large walk in pantry, a walk in freezer,3
bathrooms,2 maids rooms ,
and the butlers room, and the cooks room. And they have their
own bathrooms in them. Wow said misty that’s 14 rooms, I know
said Margo. Then on the second floor there are 6 regular
bedrooms. A large nursery with a nanny’s room connected to it.
They all have their own bathrooms. Next to the nursery is a room
that they call a playroom, and next to it is a sitting room, as
grandma calls it.
She said when she was growing up; magnolia lane was always
full of people. Her daddy was the mayor.
They held town meeting here. And there were lots of parties, and
weddings, and all kind of social events. Although grandma was an
only child she had lots of cousins.
She said the women would get together and cook big dinners .then
after everyone had eaten the men would go to the den and smoke.
And drink wine and the women would take the children to the
second floor; they would have the nanny put the babies down for
a nap, and the older kids would play in the play room. Then the
ladies would sit in the sitting room and talk. Wow how quaint
said misty, kids back then must have been so bored. Not really
said Margo, that’s all they knew so they found things to do.
Misty laughed, and Margo said, what’s so funny? You sounded
like your mom said misty, and the both laughed as Margo said,
you’re right I did.
Anyway back to the tour said Margo, oh that’s 24 rooms so far
said misty.
Ok said Margo on the third floor there are 4 bedrooms, another
nursery and nanny’s room, a playroom and a sitting room and 2
bathrooms. Wow this place is huge that’s 34 rooms. Then said
Margo there is the attic, the basement with a wine cellar. And
out back there is a large storm cellar.
