Chapter 7     Page 4

A new beginning for Magnolia Lane

The next day Margo and the twins came home from the hospital' everyone was there to greet them, with a small welcome home party. Everyone was fussing over the babies and holding them, the party had been going on for about an hour. Then Joanne noticed that Margo looked tired. she said ,we need to get things cleaned up, and let Margo and the babies get settled in .Yeah said Marilyn ,this new mommy needs all the rest she can get. Margo said ,I am a little tired ,Daniel said, come on sweetie I will help you get the babies settled in, and then you get some rest. I'll take care of them if they wake up. They took the elevator up stairs and put the babies in the cribs. Then Daniel turned to say something to Margo, but she was sound asleep on the bed, he covered her up ,and took the baby monitor and went downstairs.

When he got downstairs, his mom and Joanne had just finished cleaning  up the mess from the party, and they were fixing to leave. How are they ask Joanne ,Daniel  laughed and said Margo was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. And the babies are sound asleep too. Thank you both for the welcome home party. no need to thank us honey ,said Marilyn  as she hugged Daniel, that what mothers are for. Then Joanne said, we had better be going so you can get some sleep too. give Margo my love and we will see you soon. I will said Daniel. After they had left he locked up and went upstairs. He went to look in on the babies before going to bed, and found Margo sitting in the rocker holding Maggie. Was she crying he said as he leaned over and kissed them both. No she was wide awake, and I was afraid she would wake up Mathew. Beside I just had to hold her, and make sure this was all real, it seems like a dream. Daniel smiled at her as she laid Maggie back in her crib and said, Oh it real alright, he said, as he slid his arm around her waist .we are parents. And they stood there starring at their babies sleeping.

As the weeks went by and the twins had final gotten on a routine, things seemed to get back to normal, at the bed and breakfast. The old plantation
stayed booked. Margo thought to herself how wonderful it was to see the old place come alive again .it was almost Christmas and Daniel and Tony were hanging Christmas lights outside they had ordered some things for the lawn too  reindeer's and a sleigh, a large Santa and snowman and a few other things, It would be the twins first Christmas, even though they were only 2 months old, it all about making memories, that's what grandma had taught her. She said Margo if you make lots of memories, they will keep you company in your old age. No one can take your memories away. She sat there thinking of grandma, and she look up and said, old woman you were always right, and we are making memories with Maggie and Mathew, and soon the pitter patter of their little feet will fill the halls of Magnolia Lane.......
