Grandma Mary seemed to be feeling better every day,
but Margo and Joanne were still worried, because she looked so
frail. Joanne came up for the weekend; she brought Margo’s
dress and her heels, she also brought the cake topper Margo had
ordered. There were only two more weeks left till the wedding,
and magnolia lane looked absolutely beautiful.
Daniel and Tony had been up every weekend, and. worked in the
yard. They planted flowers around the gazebo and down the walk
that went from the gazebo to the front porch. Then they ran an
electric line, so that there could be lights inside the gazebo,
since it would be an evening ceremony. They wrapped white
twinkle lights
and silk magnolias around the gazebo and the large pillars on
the front porch.
The girls put up lights and silk magnolias around the band stand
that Daniel and Tony had built. And also around the large
pillars, that encircled the dance floor in the ball room.
Now here it was Saturday,
the day before the wedding Margo was polishing the large piano
that sat in the corner of the room; it almost looked brand new,
although it was really 75 years old. Grandma Mary had gotten it
when she was seven years old. On top of it stood three gorgeous
8 by 10 picture frames with wedding photos
taken on the front porch of magnolia lane. One of her great
grandparents,
One of her grandparents, and one of her parents. Margo could
hardly wait to have one of Daniel and her done, so she could put
it with the others, And carry on the
family tradition. She thought to herself, maybe one day when
Daniel and I have children, they may want to carry on the family
tradition and get married at magnolia lane, then their picture
would stand on the piano too. Well, she thought, there is plenty
of time to think of that latter. As for now she had her own
wedding to think about .She had waited almost 2 and ˝ years
,now tomorrow her dreams would come true. tomorrow she
would be Mrs. Daniel lee Rodgers.
