The Sleeping Child

A little angel sound asleep,
A face so lovely and so sweet.
Such innocence that lies inside,
that tiny pair of sleeping eyes.

Oh I wonder what she dreams,
While lying there so still it seems
Her eyes they flutter to and fro,
As off to dreamland she does go.

Is she dreaming of a day gone by?
Or of something that has made her cry?
I hope she's dreaming of wonderful things.
And that happiness, her dreams do bring.
