Goodbye To Bill

but since we got him here so quickly, I think there is a chance he'll recover most of his speech and movement as well as some of his memory.  We'll just have to wait and see, but you can go in. Try not to upset him, he needs to stay calm."  "Okay Doctor, thanks" Sarah said and then the three of them took a big breath and went in.  Lying there in the bed was Bill, all hooked up to tubes and stuff.  When he saw them, his eyes filled with tears.  Sarah walked over and said,  "It's okay Dad, please don't cry.  We are here, you can count on us."

Susie followed with,  "That's right Dad, it's our turn now to take care of you."  Justin chimed in,  "That's right old man, you taught us well," and he laughed.  He thought to himself how proud he was of the three of them right now.  The nurse came in and asked them to leave for a little while so they could run some tests.  "Okay," Sarah said and each of the girls kissed his cheek and Justin grabbed his hand and said,  "We'll be back, okay?"  Bill shook his head,  then Sarah said,  "I would like to go to the chapel and pray, would you two like to come?"  "Me too," said Justin.

"Okay, lets go then,"  Sarah said as they started toward the chapel.  they passed room 206, that's the room where Susie had died.  Sarah stopped and looked in, it was empty.  Justin said,  "What is it sis?"  Tears welled up in Sarah's eyes just as they had that day twenty years ago.  "This is the room where Mom died."  She said.  "Really?"  said Justin,  "Are you sure, Sarah?  That was twenty years ago."  "Yes, I'm sure, Justin.  It's something I could never forget.  Dad and I used to walk down to the chapel every day and say prayers for Mom."
